And Len had the savvy (and the kindness) to include the names of the witnesses to these marriages. So now I have from GRONI a certificate to the marriage of David Miller and Margaret Lepper in 1849 – which shows the original signature of church elder Hugh Knox who would then have been about 82 years old.
