Hi Bernadine.

You would need to do an awful lot of research in order to find the link
back to Scotland and even then, only 1 in 1000 manage that. I never have
and I have been researching for 18 years.

These are your families, tho I suspect you already know this:

You can find maps of the exact locations of their homes here:

http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/

This is some of their family - Mary Anne's name is McKenzie, not McKinney:

Action Source Surname First Name Year County
View Civil Birth Bell Mary 1865 Co. Tyrone
View Civil Birth Bell Annabella 1864 Co. Tyrone
View Civil Birth Bell Margret Annie 1867 Co. Tyrone
View Civil Birth Bell John 1869 Co. Tyrone
View Civil Birth Bell Maria Jane 1871 Co. Tyrone
View Civil Birth Bell Elizabeth 1874 Co. Tyrone

They seem to move around a lot as this is just one of their addresses:

Civil Birth Record Name: Mary Bell Date of Birth: 08-Dec-1865 Registration
Date: 26-Dec-1865 Address: Drumnaglough Parish/District: COOKSTOWN Gender:
Female County TYRONE Father: Alexander Bell Mother: Mary Anne McKenzie
Occupation: Scutcher Sponsor 1 / Informant 1: Alexander Drumnaglough
Sponsor 2 / Informant 2: Notes:

Check this out for how to research BMDs yourself:

And a bit of rooting around in the CTI website will also pay dividends:

Check out the Tithe Applotment Books in particular.

But nothing is going to make the leap back to Scotland, in my experience,
as our records rarely go back much before the 1820s and they probably came
from Scotland a long time before that.

Boyd
