Kathleen and Len

I have no doubt that Len's high volume of historical data posted on this
list is read and used by many of us.
Perhaps the reason that Len is not getting positive feedback from many of
the readers is simply due to the change in behaviour since computer
technology took over from the previous letter-writing that older Listers
will remember.

Today it is so much quicker and easier to find information. People are
generally multitasking in their computer research, most subscribing to more
than one List, and visiting many websites in a short period of time.
Compare this to when one had to wait at least weeks and often months for a
response to each query and etiquette played a part in our letterwriting. I
think the whole process was more personal before computers.

Len, people must have benifitted from your good work. Your data is
available on a website as well as posted on the County Tyrone List I think?
Do you have any help in putting the data together or is this all your own
work? I would like to know more about what motivated you to do the research
and then to make it so freely available as you do. Please tell more about
the families in which you are interested and how you are getting on with
your own family history research. I can understand how you might feel like
an anonymous supplier of data and I would like to encourage you to take the
positive view that the readership values your data, scanning it regularly,
some might print it off for further consultation. I guess we might have
different ways of using it.

Hopefully listers will respond by taking time to share with you and the
List, how they manage and benefit from your data.

Is that acceptable to to the Listowners, or should we contact Len by his
email?

Thank you Len Swindley,
Susan Wann
