Have you undertaken a site search of CTI? http://www.cotyroneireland.com/ A
quick search brings up in excess of 35 Slanes.
What era are you researching? Pre or post 1900? There are 36 Slanes recorded in
Co. Tyrone parishes in Griffiths Valuation (c1860). This was a property
valuation recording the heads of households (not entire families). You can
search it at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Trust this is useful,

I can't help with the SLANE family, Dana, but you are much more likely to get
help (and the message will be appropriately archived) if you use a more
appropriate subject heading -- as above.
When you say you are totally stuck, what avenues have you tried so far?
