I am new to the list and hope that I might be able to get a little help with my ancestors. Patrick McBride was born about 1816 but we have not been able to find his baptism as yet. How ever we have found his marriage on the 26th Oct 1846 at the Catholic Church Carickmore to Ane Kelly, witness: where Michael Hollywood and Martha Kelly. Patrick and Ann emigrated to Australia in 1857. According to Patrick's death cert it states his father was Patrick McBride. Patrick and Ann had the following children all baptised at the Catholic Church at Errigal Kieran and that at the time of the baptism's Patrick and Ann where living at Tirnaskea. John bp: 5 May 1848, sponsors Patrick & Mary Ann McCann Patrick Joseph bp: 17th Mar 1850, sponsors John & Bridget Kelly Michael bp: 23rd May 1852, sponsors James & Mary Ann McCann Peter William bp: 8th Feb 1854, sponsors Peter & Catherine Kelly Bridget Mary bp: 6th May 1855, sponsors John & Catherine Begley The last 4 children were born in Edwardstown, Sth Australia, Catherine Matilda born 1858, Ellen Ida born 1860, Annie Jane born 1863. Ellen Ida was my 2 times great grandmother. My question is what was the name of the Catholic Parish Church in Carickmore that Patrick and Ann were married in ? and the name of the Catholic Church in Errigal Kieran ? Also I can not find Tirnaskea, on a modern day map. Can anyone tell me aprox where it is ? If anyone thinks they may have a connection to my Patrick and Ann Kelly I would dearly love to hear from you.
