Dear Len, Jim and Dave
I too appreciate all the work done to make records available to the
diaspora.
I carefully read every new addition looking for my Black and other
surnames from the barony of Dungannon, County Tyrone. Alas, I haven't
yet found the records for a Black family with a possible father of
Robert or James (using Scots-Irish naming custom) whose children were
born from 1802 - 1822. Some children must have remained in Co. Tyrone
because only 4, with their families, travelled to Canada.
Has anyone ever transcribed the list of passengers for the Nelson
Village which left Belfast May 19, 1847 and arrived at Quebec June 26, 1847?
I now have two possible clues that they may have come on that ship. What
company owned that particular ship?

* This on a page of several marriages, all by him, and where he
certified the whole page too – so lots of examples of his signature
* By looking at the .pdf pages before and after /(just change the
last digit in the page number),/ I could get examples from several
pages
Rev. Robert Knox was a County Tyrone man, the 3rd son of Hugh Knox at
Urney and grandson of Gustavus Knox of Little Drumenny, both in co.
Tyrone.
He was also a great-uncle to my own grandfather.
So, thanks, Len – /you’ve done it again!/ You’ve given me a bookful
of his own original handwriting, from over 170 years ago ….

discoveries for others.
