Vincent,

You’ll find many Irish Quaker records on Findmypast (subscription site). There
are also copies of the Grange records in PRONI (the public record office) in
Belfast but they are not on-line. A personal visit is required to view them
there.

fmp has a record of Jesse Hinshaw’s marriage on 1st Nov 1845. His address was
Drumdead, Abigail’s was Grange itself. (Grange is in Co Armagh).

Abigail is recorded in the same records as attending a member’s meeting in
Grange on 11th Dec 1763, so presumably the family was still in Ireland then.

There are 122 Hinshaw entries in the fmp Irish Quaker records.  You might
consider taking out a subscription and going through them.

Elwyn

 Hello from America,
My name is Vincent Weisner, and I am going some research on my Hinshaw
ancestry, which lead to my ancestors living in County Tyrone. My ancestors were
Jesse Hinshaw and Abigail Marshall, and they were Quakers.
I would like to learn more about my ancestors that lived in County Tyrone
and a possible lineage that has been discovered. Jesse was born in County
Tyrone abt 1720 to John Hinshaw and Elizabeth Belshaw. Jesse died on 29 April
1797 in North Carolina. His wife Abigail, was born in County Tyrone, but don't
have a date on hand, to Benjamin Marshall and Ruth Bell. Abigail died on 18
March 1806, in North Carolina, which I believe that is where she died. Jesse
and Abigail lived in County Tyrone with their sons and daughters, then
immigrated to America as they were Quakers.
I believe my ancestors attended the Grange Monthly Meeting, but I'm not
sure as I can't find a way to access the records online. Can someone please
check the Grange Meeting records to see if Jesse and Abigail were listed as
members, and help me research a possible lineage of both Jesse Hinshaw and
Abigail Marshall to more ancestors?
Please note that I have this email in both English and Irish, as I don't
know if anyone prefers one or the other. I would say that most of the people
would be able to understand what I'm saying, but I wasn't sure.
Kind Regards,
Vincent Weisner

Dia duit ó Mheiriceá,
Vincent Weisner is ainm dom, agus tá mé ag déanamh roinnt taighde ar mo
shinsearacht Hinshaw, as ar tháinig cónaí ar mo shinsir i gContae Thír Eoghain.
Ba iad mo shinsir Jesse Hinshaw agus Abigail Marshall, agus bhí siad Quakers.
Ba mhaith liom níos mó a fhoghlaim faoi mo shinsir a raibh cónaí orthu i
gContae Thír Eoghain agus ar shliocht a d’fhéadfadh a bheith faighte. Rugadh
Jesse i gContae Thír Eoghain abt 1720 do John Hinshaw agus Elizabeth Belshaw.
Fuair Jesse bás ar 29 Aibreán 1797 i Carolina Thuaidh. Rugadh a bhean chéile
Abigail, i gContae Thír Eoghain, ach níl dáta in aice leis, do Benjamin
Marshall agus Ruth Bell. Fuair Abigail bás ar 18 Márta 1806, i Carolina
Thuaidh, agus creidim gurb é sin an áit a bhfuair sí bás. Bhí Jesse agus
Abigail ina gcónaí i gContae Thír Eoghain lena mac agus a n-iníonacha, chuaigh
siad ar imirce go Meiriceá agus iad ina gCairic.
Creidim gur fhreastail mo shinsir ar Chruinniú Míosúil na Gráinsí, ach níl
mé cinnte mar ní féidir liom bealach a aimsiú chun rochtain a fháil ar na
taifid ar líne. An féidir le duine taifid Chruinniú na Gráinsí a sheiceáil le
do thoil féachaint an raibh Jesse agus Abigail liostaithe mar chomhaltaí, agus
cabhrú liom taighde a dhéanamh ar shliocht féideartha Jesse Hinshaw agus
Abigail Marshall do níos mó sinsear?
Tabhair faoi deara, le do thoil, go bhfuil an ríomhphost seo agam i
mBéarla agus i nGaeilge, mar níl a fhios agam an fearr le héinne ceann amháin
nó an ceann eile. Déarfainn go mbeadh an chuid is mó de na daoine in ann a
thuiscint cad atá á rá agam, ach ní raibh mé cinnte.
Mise le meas,
Vincent Weisner
