Let me add a quick postscript: That crosswind component applies only if your tail height is at or near the 75 inches specified in the design. With a drooping tail, the upwind wing is inclined to lift giving you unhappiness.
Having ailerons you can turn on the ground helps a LOT if you have a drooping tail but isn't so important if your tail is at the correct height.
