You bet there is. Around 5000 aircraft effected with a chemical called
Ethylene Diamine (EDA) including mine. Was incorrectly dosed into the fuel
at the refinery. The cleaning procedure is to wash tanks, pumps, filters
etc with water. Now the interesting thing about that is that the AD
describes a method of getting residue water out of the tanks etc after
decontamination. 3% of the tank capacity of Isopropyl Alcohol is added to
full tanks of fuel and allowed to slosh around etc. The fuel is then
drained off and a further 1% of Isopropyl Alcohol is added to full tanks
and the aircraft is flown with this. The Alcohol binds the water to the
fuel and runs it out through the engine during combustion. This would be
an
ideal way of cleaning Coupes tanks as they are hard to clean out all the
water. 1% of Alk into each tank occasionally may be just the thing.
