3800H didn't have a bracket back in 86 when we picked it up. Ordered one from Univair the supports are chromemoly (sp). Would not think they could break. As for the crack in the top of Gasolater. Sounds as if it was over tightened. Pipe thread are tapered. Puts a lot of force pushing outward. Diecast housing are prone to crack that way. Warren (Just a queer 415 and A2 owner who likes facts)
