For those of you who have the Garmin 89, 90, 92, etc. size gps's and have
been looking for a way to mount/hold them in your plane, read on. It
turns
out that the model 45 for the marine crowd has an accessory (abt $55)
which
screws to the dash of the boat and rotates and tilts a holder which grips
the gps and also has a slot to hold the power plug which makes contact as
the gps is inserted into the holder. Now, I was never able to make use of
the whole thing as it is more suited for a dash that is lower than that of
a
car. However, the important part of the assembly that holds on to the gps
IS available as a parts item directly from Garmin.
Phone 1-800-800-1020 work your way through the maze to parts.
Part no. 145-00109-00 PMP, Cradle, Mount, GPS40/45 $11.50
