I just replaced fabric wings on my Forney with all metal wings with which
it
was certificated. With the fabric wings it flew left wing heavy, with the
ball slightly out of the cage. It had trim tabs on the ailerons to take
the
pressure off the yoke. I now attribute the problem to a slight warp of
the
wing. I do not remember any LEADING edge mis-alignment, but both it's
aileron and that of the Forney replacement seem to have a deliberate
TRAILING edge droop in the outboard foot or so. I assume this is built in
to the design. There were no washers under the hinges of either aileron.
Makes me wonder if the wing in question is warped causing the misalignment
of the aileron and need for washers.

As a side remark, contrary to a comment made by another contributor, there
are no drag/anti-drag wires as one would find in a more conventional
fabric
covered wing. I assume this to be because the ribs are not parallel, but
rather set in a triangular arrangement negating the need for other
triangular braceing.
