Steve,
SB-30 requires an inspection of the 40511 muffler within 25 hrs.,
and then continued inspections at each 50 hrs. of operation. It
requires a visual inspection and pressure test. Muffler must be
removed, and inspected with a bright light and magnifying glass, for
signs of cracks, corrosion, burn-through, heat damage, or weld
separation. Then pressure tested at 3 to 5 psi for leaks. If any leaks
or damage is found, muffler must be replaced as there is no approved
procedure for repairing it. If you replace the muffler, make certain it
is part No. 40511-1. Part No. 40511-1 still requires the visual
inspection at each periodic inspection, but you no longer need to
pressure test it.Larry Steven Finkelman wrote: > Does anyone have a copy of SB30. > It relates to the muffler system. > I am ordering a new muffler from Univair, I want > to know what the sb says first. > > Thanks. > Steve Finkelman > Forney F1 > CFIWR > > p.s. > > Does anyone have any experience with mufflers from > Univair.
