I have seen "Stuff" [algae and other bugs], grow in middle distillate
[heating/diesel oil, and jet/kero] and heavy oil [bunker and crude]
industrial tanks on tank farms that I have dealt with. I know of know
instances where bugs have grown in "light end" [gasoline, naphtha]
tanks.

If you have bugs you have some middle distillate mixed in with your
gasoline .
