First, thanks to all who have responded to my request for info. At this point, I am leaning away from repair and toward a new tank. I've pulled my radios, wiring, necessary instruments and am about ready to disconnect the lines from the tank and try to remove it. I've located the rear mount screws (will replace with bolt heads as suggested..thanks) but have not found anything yet that looks like a forward mount or mounts. This is not strap mounted, as I guess some are. Can anyone describe to me how this tank is mounted up front? I don't want to tear apart anything I don't have to while I look around. This is a (Feb)1967 Alon A-2, SN 229, Reg# 5629F, with factory rudder pedals. I bought it just over five years ago and love the airplane. Sadly, I may soon have to sell it as I need something IFR to rapidly build time in. Bob Saville, you mentioned meeting John Wright, Sr. at Oshkosh......do you have any info on how I might contact him or his son? I'd at least like to talk to him before I commit to a new tank.
