Interesting! There is an article in the June 1999 edition of Coupe Capers about an old original Ercoupe warbird owned by Stephen Hardin of Terrell TX (N37143). There is a picture of it with it's original paint scheme on the www.ercoupe.com page under the planes section. They are listed by N number. It's intent was to be an Aerial target for the Army Air Corps in 1941. (The U.S. Air Force didn't come into existence until September of 1947). Skyport Services has a pretty good selection of manuals for an Ercoupe. You can reach them at 1-800-624-5312 to get a free catalog or to talk to them about what manuals they have available. Good luck on your search!
