Greg, From the tech side of this I am a in the middle type a guy myself. Now for leaning the engine. Nope not in the Coupe. 5000 in common point to start leaning the engine. With the 0-360 in the Mooney M20a I need to lean a tad to taxi to the run to keep it smooth. In the Alon I'll bring it in around 2500'. Again just a tad.
