Interesting search.... All above 4500 were D's or CD's.....up to E,F, G H,
of
course.

What I mean is that all CD, had the larger valves in the main gear/nose
gear;
and the S/S cover over the forward fulslage; handbook, and
notices/placards
in the cockpit as required by the D certification. BUT, because of the
"poor"
landing ---read faster landing of the D, due to the 9 deg restriction on
the
up elevator ...considered un-satisfactory by the factory, the GW was
reduced
back to 1260 lbs, allowing the retention of 13 degrees up elevator and
slower
landings...

So, I think one should be able to do the paperwork --restrict the elevator
travel to 9 degrees and re-certify any CD to a 1400 # D. Add Split
elevator
to make it an E,F,G,H. (these would also require conversion to 85 HP &
Prop
change).
