We took these various fittings out as part of the wing and center section IRAN. We replaced both rear hinges due to bolt hole elongation, although we found only only minimal surface corrosion. Of course, you have to remove them to check properly. We also closely inspected the aileron attach points, removing them for inspection. No corrosion found there either so we inhibited and replaced. New parts are available from Univair and they're not expensive. The full wing and center section IRAN is straightforward once you have the wings off and uncovered. Given the corrosion we found elsewhere I would recommend a full IRAN everytime you see a corroded rivet on any part of the airframe. It's normally a sign of a "growing" problem underneath. As for metal wings? - No thanks.
