[COUPERS-TECH] Cowling mounts

On the left and right of the cowling there are supports that connect to the nose bowl ring and clips off the engine mount. Can anyone tell me if the upper cowling vertical support that hold the hinge are connected solid at the rear portion of this stiffener?  My coupe has a fiber "puck" that looks like a rubbing  surface, but I have seen other coupes that have this mounted solid right through into the cabin.   Your help is appreciated.
