Richard,

You will still have a C-85 because it started as a C-85 and you are using
a
C-85 STC to make the change (just ask the FAA it was their idea). That
said
you have a 200 cubic inch engine just like the C-90 but because you can
use
C-85 RPM you are able to get more HP out of it than a C-90 and with the
right prop you will have what I think is the most effective power plant
for
the Ercoupe. Keeping in mind that the 0-200 conversion has a prop that
does
not work as efficiently as the one on the C-85. The only problem is going
to be having the right carb for it. I think what is required is the MS
from
a 0-200 and it will require a STC or field approval. I hope to use the
0-200 crank rods and pistons in my C-85 when I get it overhauled.

Best regards,
Vern

I have a question about the O-200 conversions for the C-85. Maybe someone
can help clear up the muddy water for me.

There is at least one STC for putting an O-200 crank in a C-85. Does this
make the engine an O-200? I think the O-200 and C-85 have the same bore,
but I assume a different stroke. Will it require a prop or other
changes? Will this add a lot of cost to the rebuild?
