Patrick;    I have not disassembled a Forney nose strut. However, the
Forney 
service manual indicates that once you remove the two screws holding the
top 
piece in position, you must pull the entire unit up to expose two snap
rings. 
You remove the two snap rings, and then push the entire assembly out the 
bottom.
I believe, from my limited experience disassembling Coupe nose struts,
that 
you will have to remove the bottom bushing (held in place with four tiny 
screws) in order to push everything out the bottom. I remember having 
difficulty with other Coupe nose struts, and having to actually drive the 
assembly out the bottom of the outer cylinder using a long wooden dowel
and a 
two pound hammer!
I would recommend that you call John Wright Sr. (after 9 PM central time)
and 
ask his opinion. He is the technical advisor for EOC members, and has over
25
