All,
I would like to talk to an owner who has a Coupe with the Electrol
nosegear. I have several questions to ask in an effort to get me back up
and flying.
Specifically 1. How far does the Lower bearing sleeve extend below the
steering collar assembly? Mine extends 1 3/4 inches.
2. What keeps the inner lower bearing from slipping out
from the lower bearing sleeve? The service manual and Ercoupes part
manual (explosion diagram) doesn't show the mechanism used to keep these
together.
3. Is there ANY play (slop) between the steering collar
and the attachment to the motor mount when the gear is fully extended?
My A&P doesn't think there should be any at all and wants me to research
it before he will give me his O.K.
