http://www.video-access.com/VASPAGE5.html A wonderful illustration on how the bottom wing cap should not look like is displayed in the above URL. I agree on that paint will not stop corrosion. The proper treatment should be the one which has been done to the wing in question. cleaned, acid etched, alodined,primed . A visual check of the area in question should show whetehr the treatment was successful.
