Artie: I could take and post a picture. However, I am not sure that you
would
be able to see the modifications. First, I had to tip the gascolator down,

because as Pete said, the braces are a mite too long. Second, I had to
remove
a small amount of material on the front brace where it fastens to the
front
lifter cover stud. The brace contacted the lifter cover until I removed
the
material. Thirdly, I had to reform the bottom ends of the braces because
they
did not meet squarely above the gascolator fitting (the rear one was
twisted
to the rear, and the front one to the front slightly leaving about 1/4
inch
opening on the outside of the brace ends). Lastly, I had to use a
different
Adel clamp because I did not order the kit, I only ordered the braces.
If you were to make your own braces, which is easily done, you have

the problem of not complying with the AD which states that you must use
the
Univair parts, and even lists the part numbers, (the tubes come with part
numbers) unless you have previously complied with the service bulletin, or

receive approval of alternative compliance. i.e. you must then fill out a
337
and obtain FAA approval, rather than stating compliance with the AD.
BTW, has anyone seen or heard anything from/to the FAA about
allowing
changes/modifications to this AD? I provided most of this information to
Roger Caldwell in the Denver office, and he indicated that he would take
some
action. ??
