I own a 1959 Forney F-1 with a C-90. While flying last week I had a
problem
with the bolt connecting the carb heat cable to the metal place that
controls the carb heat on the airbox. The airbox appears to be the
original
style with the round Brackett filter assembly. My A&P is telling me that
the
bushing on the metal plate are worn, metal "flapper" plate needs to be
replaced and we need to replace them.
What I am trying to determine is whether the newer airboxes in UNIVAIR or
Aircraft Spruce and Specialty can be bought to replace the whole unit.
They
appear to be squarish.
Has anyone had this problem before and can give any advice?
