Remember that there is a service bulletin that must be done on the airbox that fixes the carb heat lever and stops the filter from getting sucked into the carb if installed backwards if not already done. I experience the same problem on my Ercoupe. My Investigation showed no replacement air boxes available , exept the regular square style box, which according to Skyport (not Lee) should just work fine. I assume one needs a 337 for that. If you still have the old box in relatively good shape , it is worth considering a repair. I believe the shaft for the flapper can be bought and a new bushing made and brazed in.
