The annual or the Ceconite?  Actually, Ceconite under the right
circumstances 
can have an almost unlimited lifespan. As long as the underlying fabric is

protected by the dope covering, it's pretty durable.  If the plane is 
hangared that helps keep the finish in good shape.  One thing you may have

problems with is the tape on the seams.  Basically, if it looks good, it 
probably is good.

With a plane that gets low usage, the years since overhaul become more 
important than the hours.  If bell bottoms were in style the last time the

engine was overhauled, it's living on borrowed time.  You say the cylinder

was low.  How low?  Where is the leakage going?  Depending, it may come
back 
or you may be able to live with it for a while.  All in all, it sounds
like 
you should plan on an overahul in the fairly near future.  If you elect to

fly rather than overhaul, you may want to have an oil analysis done to get
an 
idea of whether or not there's any hidden secrets.  At the very least,
have 
the oil screen checked, although if it was cleaned at the annual then the 
evidence is gone....
