Good
morning all, I received a vertical card magnetic compass from Santa. Have
any of you mounted one of these to replace the whiskey compass? I cannot
get to my Coupe's interior because of the cold, if I open the cockpit
seals will break and the outer cover is as stiff as a board anyway. Is
the bar which goes between the top of the bubble windshield and top of
the instrument panel steel or aluminum? If it is steel, did it interfere
with the calibration? Lastly, did you find the best way to mount the unit
was on the top of the instrument panel, or use the piper mount and put it
on the bar going from the panel to the top of the windshield? I would
prefer the piper mount but wanted some words of wisdom from you before
going ahead and ordering the mount.
Mine's alum., Pete. Be Careful drilling so you do not go through
the plexi!

bitterly cold) Portland
