I hope all the coupers have had a happy Christmas day with their families and have been thankful for all their blessings. And I hope we've all remembered the true meaning of this day--the birth of Christ.
I enjoy being a member of the coupers mailing list. I'm the 65-year-old retiree in a wheelchair trying to get my third class medical renewed. My application for the third class medical was denied by the FAA on November 21. On December 3, with advice from AOPA, I faxed an appeal to the FAA and I'm now awaiting their response telling me what more they want from me. Again, I thank all of you for the interest and support you've given and doubtless will continue to give. You are all a wonderful bunch of folks. Since it's been over 30 years since I was active flying, I'm taking ground school again. Now isn't that optimism that I'm going to get the third class medical. I wish to each of you a good 1999 and lots of good flying. I hope I'll be able to join you.
