I think Bob's right. The guy who posted this original note was clearly an
airplane/Ercoupe afficionado trying to fit in by throwing around a little
lingo. Nothing wrong with that, as long as nobody gets hurt... which it
would be pretty hard to imagine happening with this comment. No one with
any grasp of practical aerodynamics would add power to a crabbed landing,
it just doesn't make sense.

Most likely this fellow was a passenger in a crosswind landing in a
three-control airplane and watched the pilot bring it down to the runway
in
a crab, then straighten it out just before setting it down  (burst of
power
to get slipstream on the rudder -- only the passenger wouldn't notice the
rudder movement, only the burst of power).
