Since I recently picked at random Brian for bringing up the mailing list
issue of which alias to post to (ALWAYS: [EMAIL PROTECTED]) I will
use
Steven as an example of posting from a non-member email alias to bring up
several issues to the group as a whole!

THE PROBLEM:

Whenever someone posts a message from an email account which is NOT a
member
of coupers, it gets bounced to me, so that I can approve it. This takes
time, is annoying and sometimes I don't get to my mail for days (or weeks
when I'm on vacation), so your message my languish in my inbox.

THE SOLUTION:
** Always send messages from the account under which you are subscribed!
***

OTHER PROBLEMS:
"But what if I have multiple email accounts?"
The simple answer is to subscribe your secondary accounts to the digest,
and
your primary accounts to coupers.

"How do I subscribe/unsubscribe again?"
COUPERS--> send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with message text
of
subscribe or unsubscrbe
COUPERS-DIGEST-> send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with
messages of subscribe or unsubscribe.

"But sometimes it works when I subscribe/unsubscribe to
[EMAIL PROTECTED], how come?"
Inproper subscription attempts get bounced to me as well, so I wade
through
them and do the subscription by hand, which is time consuming and annoying
as well.

SO AGAIN: http://www.exmsft.com/~tom/wawing/coupers.htm has instructions
on
coupers!

Thanks for all of the posting activities recently, it's been entertaining!
(although I can't believe how much time an ERCOUPE list has talked about
spins! <grin>)

To Steve Lewis: Bummer about the coupe, it's beautiful out there today!
To Ron Miller: You cad, you got the best float plane pictures!

Sincerely,
-Tom "Keeper of the Coupers" Laird-McConnell

Subject: Weak Start
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

My coupe which I bought this spring has always started but seemed
to crank rather weakly. Today, the first COLD day on which I tried to
fly it, the engine cranked so weakly it did not start. The question is
do I simply replace the battery or try to get it to a mechanic for a
more serious check out .
As an aside, roughly what would is code to replace the battery and can
I
do this myself???
