Leslie:

Alons were factory built with rudder pedals, bucket seats, and an
instrument panel similar to current aircraft. Although there is some joy
in landing crabbed in crosswinds in non-rudder'coupes, the rudder is
useful
in producing a limited amount of slip to lose altitude even quicker and in
reducing the side load on the gear if you choose to land the way you were
taught in three-control aircraft.

If you are tall however, the pedals will get in your way.
