If you must keep the coupe oustside, then a canopy cover is a must.......even though the book says "Do not use canopy cover" ( pg 10, Ercoupe Service Manual, under Care of Windows). They show a coupe tied down, outdoors. Idealy all airplanes should be kept in a hanger.
Well, we all can't have hangers. I have been on a waiting list for almost 10 years.... Yes I do have a canopy cover. If you use one, it must be made of a material that will shed rain, but still allow vapor to move through....... Modern materials for boat covers achieve this, I am told. That is the material I have used. Sheds the rain, yet allows vapors to move through, causing less condensation...and hopefully no corrosion. Now if I could just build a tent over the coupe...... I agree with Syd. - be sure the drain holes in the fairings and bottom of the fuselage are open so liquid water will drain out... Oh that we could all have dry hangers....
