Zach, my advice to you is to do nothing to the plane for 6 months, as
far as mods go.  Just fly the heck out of it.  Keep a list of things
that you feel would make it nicer to fly.  After 30 to 40 hours, you
might be surprised at what you do want and don't want anymore.  This
works best, as the wish list can be put into the budget for things to do
when the plane is annualled.  That way you only pay for the down time
and disassembly/reassembly for the things you want installed once.  This
worked for me and was recommended to me by the person I purchased my
coupe from.  Just do not neglect any maintanance.  It is always cheaper
and safer to take care of them ASAP.
