You can talk to Bruce's Custom Covers at 1-800-777-6405. They will send
you a beautiful packet showing all the materials they use in the
manufacture of their products. You can see and feel the material that
the covers are made out of. They are very freindly, and will listen to
any special things that you want done. I have a strobe mounted about a
foot behind the cabin, and wanted it covered, also. They extended the
cover to go over it at no extra cost. They also called me at home to
clear up a question that they had about placement of the pocket for my
venturi (yes, the cover also goes over the venturi). My cover cost me
$215, plus $20 to have my N number silk screened on the sides of the
cover. The cover also comes with a stuff bag, so it is no problem taking
it with you to fly-ins, or for those times that the plane cannot be in
the hangar. I keep it on in the hangar so I can keep dust off the
windows. It is very windy in this area, and dust blows in under and
around the door, depositing itself on everything. The cover is cheaper
then a new window. It also saves my instruments from sun damage when I
fly to different airports and have to tie down outside. The cover also
sheds water, so I don't worry about rain getting into the cockpit if the
plane gets caught outside in a summer shower while I am away. I like the
peice of mind that brings. Bruce's Custom Covers advertises in all the
major magazines. They are also the people who are in the Sportys
catalog. I did find other makers of cabin covers on the net. They were
all one-third to one-half higher in price for the same product. Hangars
are great, and I don't mind paying the rent for my space, but I cann't
take it with me, which is why I purchased the cover in the first place.
If you get one, you won't regret it.
