The cover extends down below the "glass" all around and below the side rails, as well as covering the front gas cap and gage. The cover does not flap even in very strong winds, if you keep it tight. I use bungy cords under the belly to hold it down. I do however get some water inside the belly, under the seat, at the lowest spot on the belly. I don't know how it gets inside, could be condensation. I unzipped the bottom of the baggage compartment and drilled three 3/16" holes where the water lies and now it drains out before it can puddle.
