Coupers: I followed your suggestions and got some fabric dye from Wally World.
Worked good on the lens, it's red again. Seen something else, after I had used the dye. It's stain glass window paint. In the craft department. May give that a try next time. Also: Jack Gocha had a problem with a rattle in his elevator. We had a similar problem here. Used a bore scope hooked to a video camera. It's a small piece of fiber optic hooked to a lens. I use one here, at work, to look for wear in twisters. I wouldn't suggest anyone buy one to locate a rattle, mine cost about $2,500. But if you could beg, borrower or steal one, it may be cheaper than a A&P, if all you need to do is find a rattle. I also would highly recommend it for a annual, looking for that wing rot. It can get into places that a mirror and flashlight can't. Thanks for the help on the lens. If I do the stain glass stuff, I'll let you know how it works. Jack 99069 P.S. Still got that spot landing contest on Oct 17, 1998. Come on out and take my money.
