I don't know if this is a common problem, but we were experiencing what I thought was nosewheel shimmy, but finally one day I stuck my head out the window and looked at the nosegear while it was happening, and it wasn't wiggling at all. I'm assuming it's imbalance in the main gear tire(s).
I have a lot of experience in Cessnas with this problem, and it was amazing to me how much this shimmy resembled nosegear shimmy.
