Hello Guys...
Just having some fun reading the sim debate '98. Wanted to share
my
view. It was the MS Flight Simulator that actually got me off my butt and
into
a CFI to learn how to really do it. I figured if it was that much fun on
the
computer, then it must be great in real life. I've talked to a couple guys
that give "young eagles" rides and they are amazed when they give a kid a
chance to try and make a coordinated turn and do very well and already
have a
basic idea of what all the gauges on the panel are for etc. etc. So my
take on
the whole thing is... it's a great motivational tool. Since I started
flying
however, I think I may have only picked up the virtual yoke once. Seems
like a
waste of time now when the real teacher is sitting up in it's hangar
patiently
waiting.
Just an opinion,
Andy
