Coupers --
SORRY Don't know how that got sent (wasn't done yet), not proof
read either.

Probably I'm the last one in the group to really find this out. If
you
keep your Coupe smooth and shiny it flies better.
While my Coupe was in for the Annual, my wife and I worked long
hard hours
cleaning, polishing and waxing it. I just got the plane last August and
this is the first time we have done it. My Coupe has metal wings and still
had paint and old numbers on the bottom of the wings so I spent a lot of
time removing that with Scotchbrite and aluminum cleaner/polisher.
My C-85-12 continental at our airport (U42) elevation of 4605
above MSL
used to climb out at 2300 rpm between 200 to 300 fpm climb, now it climbs
at 400 to 500 rpm. The level flight IAS, at 2300 rpm used to be around 105
now it's around 114. I'm almost afraid to climb at 70 mph because the
angle
of attack is so steep but I checked it out and it still "stalls" around 57
mph. Sorry about the rewrite and final chapter.
