Okay guys, need some help. We've got a Fly-In coming up at 6A3 in October.
There's going to be three contest. I want to take home
the money on them all. So I need some help on the following
things that some of you may have done with a coupe.
1 - Bombing. Flower sacks dropped from 500' onto a target.
Any pointers? With the top off the coupe it should be
a natural for this one.
2 - Short take off. Going to be competing with Super Clubs and
such. What can I do to get the shorts take-off run. I can
get off in about 800 feet now.
Top closed?
Gas in nose tank only?
Starve the week before?
Fly naked?
3 - Landing roll. From the edge of the grass to the stop point.
I'm down to well under 1,000 working for 500.
Think the windows should be open for this. Get my hand out
for some added drag.
Should I set the brakes before touch down?
Slowest approach speed?
Any suggestions.
What do you guys think? Can't let some pedal pushers out do
a coupe. Need some tips for practice sections over the next
couple weeks.
Thanks,
Jack
