Jeff,

I have the standard 35 amp generator in by 415C/C85.  I am running a
King 76 transponder, a Narco 810 flip flop com transceiver and a II
Morrow 2001 NMS with separate Loran module.  This all works fine and the
battery gets charged.  If I turn on the landing light I cannot keep the
ampmeter positive though.

        Subject:        Alternator STC From Barnstormers Aviation

        Do I understand correctly that If I get the STC for the 60 amp
alternator from Barnstormer's Aviation that I can go to my local auto
parts store and purchase Ford part # D0FF10300F and have it installed by
an A&P? If so, this sure beats having to buy the expensive alternator
conversion kit. 
         
        My Father and I fly a '46 415-C with a C-85 engine.We installed
slick mags a few years ago during a major ovrhaul but kept the
generator. We have been kicking around the idea of adding a ModeC
transponder someday. If we keep the generator will it power a Terra
nav/com and the transponder and still keep the battery at full charge?
