I have wanted a Ercoupe since they were new. Yes, I am old enough to remember them as new aircraft.
I am looking at posibly buying a 415C and am looking for advice. I do not yet have the numbers. The owner is unsure and the logs are somewhere else, but do exist I am told. It has two things that I am not sure about. It has the metal wings and the rudder peddle kit, both of which I have some reservations about. Additionally, it looks awful. Someone started to strip the pain, but only got as far as the front of the canopy. We are in very early stages of negotiation and I do not yet have a price nor do I know what the avionics situation is. I hope to fly it this week. It supposedly has a fresh annual by a shop that I do have confidence in. Owner claims all AD's are complied with. Any suggestions. I don't want my emotional attachment to the AC to cloud my vision of this plane. I am not really looking for a project. I am looking for a flyer.
