Charlie,

I had very high oil temperatures in my C85 in the summer until I added
the extra baffling - this really solved the problem. Then I added an El
Reno oil filter and now I have trouble getting my oil warm enough except
in the middle of summer.

The baffling is expensive and a pain to install but I would recommend
it. A cheaper solution is to try the oil filter alone ($200 plus
installation). This may be enough to get you temps down and it is
better for your engine.

I am experiencing high oil temp heat from my overhauled 75 hp.
The engine
has 80 hours since overhaul. I realize the temps are somewhat
higher than
usual this time of the year, but the oil temp is well over 220
degrees.
Wonder if anyone else is experiencing higher temps or is their a
fix without
going to the new Skysport front cowl? The gauge is working
properly??
