Jeff, I have just finished going over the Service Memorandums and Service bulletins concerning the coupe that I am renovating and two come to mind that deal with problems associated with carb heat and throttle operations. Memorandum #66, maintenance of old style heat box. apparently the old style heat box applied some carb heat when the throttle was retarded. It details how to fix problems similar th what you describe. Bulletin #19, Filter assembly, modifications of. Details problems caused by the filter element hitting the carb heat baffle.
