Glad to hear you found the problem with the Carb heat.... A long time ago, on my coupe I had a similar problem, in that occasionally the engine would run rough, etc...
I found the carb heat flap on the wrong side of the shaft, and one of the bolts missing. When I hit a wind gust, the flap would move into position and feed hot air... Lucky to find it before the other bolt came off and the flap choked the air inlet... Yes check those things on annual and on pre flight... Fly Safe - Have Fun Harry 93530
