Try measuring your minimum flying speed with idle power and full up elevator. Then multiply that number by 1.3 (or add 15 mph) to get your approach speed. This will leave you with a good but not excessive amount of elevator for the flare. > And yes, there is very little braking action with the Goodyear > brakes. Mine, several years ago, got weaker and weaker so slowly that I got very good at landing without excess energy -- I had to, there was very little braking action left.
