We normally have pretty hot temperatures here in Arizona in the summer months.  I have not heard of anyone having problems with vapor lock out here.  As far as I know everyone out here uses 100LL or 80/87 (if they can get it). I use 100LL with TCP. Are you folks that are having problems using mogas?

Subject: Re: Vapor Lock

Since the problem only appears to happen at high angels of attack where the fuel pressure is decreased a bit vapor lock is the most logical explanation which it seems that others are agreeing to in principal. Since heat is always a problem here from spring till winter I tend to make a shallow climb out unless there is a need to get over an obstacle. This does 2 things, keeps the fuel system in a position to provide the normal fuel pressure and second keeps the heat down. The first thing I would recommend is to look at how the fuel line is routed before worrying about insulating it. Make sure it is not passing too close to any heat source such as exhaust or the oil tank. Next if your configuration is anything like mine the oil tank is far too close to the gascolator for my liking. If this is the case a simple heat shield may be the answer. The main thing is to look at the proximity to any heat sources.

Just my opinion, and I could be wrong but then it doesn't cost you anything either.
