It seems that this whole area is one that is ripe for some 
entrepreneurship. 

The Coupe isn't that different from lots of c. 1940-50 aircraft
in that there is a header tank on the inside of the firewall. 

One could probably make a tidy living with an STC'd semi-rigid 
fuel cell patterned after auto racing designs, in which the 
tank will not rupture at force levels which are survivable
to the occupants, nor will fuel pour out of a broken connection.

No doubt a lot of Cub (and early PA-n owners) would be pleased
by such a development.
